The people of Israel demonstrated their unbelief by their dishonesty and by taking unfair advantage of the poor. For their unbelief, the Lord would take even His Word away from them.

“There was never anyone like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord . . .” Yet when he humbled himself before the Lord, the Lord held off on His immediate judgment. What mercy! You too will find that He is merciful.
