This site is intended to be a daily devotion site.  It has posts with a scripture reference, a thought to consider about that reference, and an associated hymn.  You can subscribe to the site to get daily devotions sent to you.

The compiler of these Daily Devotions is David Scaller, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, CLC, Sister Lakes, Michigan.  The devotions appear in the month by month in the 2015 & 2016 Lutheran Spokesman.

FROM THE EDITOR of the Lutheran Spokesman:
These Daily Bible Readings (together with the Bible commentaries) first appeared month by month in an earlier volume of the Lutheran Spokesman. CLC Pastor David Lau compiled them for the year 1987. They appear to fit the year 2014 quite well.
We are happy to discover that our Spokesman budget allows us to make these daily readings available to our subscribers in pamphlet form as part of their annual subscription. We thank our gracious Lord — and His instrument, Pastor Lau — for making these devotional readings available to us for the coming year. With God’s ever timeless and timely Word as our constant guide and companion, we look forward confidently to another year of His marvelous grace.
“Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life. The proud have me in great derision, yet I do not turn aside from Your law. I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord, and have comforted myself. Indignation has taken hold of me because of the wicked, who forsake Your law. Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. I remember Your name in the night, O Lord, and I keep Your law. This has become mine, because I kept Your precepts.” (Psalm 119:49-56)
— Pastor Paul Fleischer
