The oracle against Moab continues.

Abijam continues the false worship of his father and the war against Jeroboam. Abijam dies, and Asa becomes king over Judah. Asa serves the Lord faithfully. Meanwhile Nadab rules over Israel and continues in the sins of his father. Baasha kills Nadab and becomes king of Israel.

King Rehoboam ignores good advice and as a result the kingdom is divided, Rehoboam ruling over Judah and Jeroboam ruling over Israel. Jeroboam makes two calves of gold for the people of Israel to worship.
