Today’s Bible Reading

In the aftermath of his sin with Bathsheba, David pleads to the Lord for a clean heart and a right spirit. This is the fourth of the seven “penitential psalms.”

God’s saving grace has appeared to all people. His grace works powerfully in our lives, causing us to deny ungodliness, making us eager to do what is good. By His grace we also “wait for the blessed hope–the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Christmas lights are all around us. These lights remind us that Christ is the Light of the world. But they also remind us that God has called us to reflect the light of Christ. “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
