Today’s Bible Reading

The people of Israel are to provide generously for one another. At the end of every seventh year, all debts are to be forgiven.

The believers in Sardis are lacking in good works; the Lord encourages them to repent and to wake up. The believers in Philadelphia have remained faithful in the face of false teaching; the Lord encourages them to continue in faithfulness. The believers in Laodicea are lukewarm in their works; the Lord encourages them to become rich in faith.

While in exile on the island of Patmos, John received a revelation from the Lord. John sends messages from the Lord to seven churches in Asia Minor: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.
