Prophets of the Lord call the people of Judah to resume the reconstruction of the temple. Tattenai the governor asks King Darius in a letter to determine whether or not Cyrus has decreed that the temple be rebuilt.

The Jewish leaders bring Jesus before Pilate. Judas realizes his guilt and hangs himself in despair. Pilate finds no guilt in Jesus, but the crowd chooses to release Barabbas and to crucify Jesus. Pilate delivers Jesus to be crucified. Roman soldiers mock Jesus before leading Him away and crucifying Him between two criminals. Jesus dies. Joseph of Arimathea buries Jesus. Pilate gives the chief priests and the Pharisees a guard of soldiers, and the chief priests and the Pharisees secure the tomb of Jesus.
