Today’s Bible Reading

The Lord will destroy Damascus, but will preserve a remnant of faithful people.

We praise the Lord for His wondrous works. We praise the Lord for the depth of His wisdom. We praise the Lord for His protection against our enemies. We praise the Lord for His continually feeding and strengthening us in body and in soul.

The Lord warns the people of the curse that will come with monarchy, but the people refuse to listen; they want to have a king in order to be like the surrounding nations. The Lord directs Samuel to give them their king.
