Today’s Bible Reading

A Judean travels to Moab where his two sons take Moabite wives, Orpah and Ruth. The man and his two sons die. Orpah returns to her people, but Ruth relocates to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law, Naomi.

On the advice of Jethro, Moses appoints chiefs over the children of Israel to judge the people. The chiefs are to decide small matters and Moses must concern himself only with hard cases.
