Today’s Bible Reading

A Judean travels to Moab where his two sons take Moabite wives, Orpah and Ruth. The man and his two sons die. Orpah returns to her people, but Ruth relocates to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law, Naomi.

Solomon contemplates the meaninglessness of life in this world without the Lord. From a worldly perspective, even wisdom is meaningless in the end.

David deceives the king of Gath into thinking that David is attacking Judeans, leading the king to assume that David will remain under his control.
