Today’s Bible Reading

The Lord commands Moses to take vengeance on a group of Midianites who have seduced Israel to idolatry in the incident of Peor (Numbers 25). The Israelite army destroys and plunders the Midianites.

Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.” 3 So Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against… The Lord commands Moses to take vengeance on a group of Midianites who have seduced Israel to idolatry in the incident of Peor (Numbers 25). The Israelite army destroys and plunders the Midianites.

The Lord used Jonathan to save the life of David— who was to be king and the ancestor of Jesus. Saul would not stop God from bringing His Son into the world.
