Today’s Bible Reading

David brings the ark of God to Jerusalem. David dances before the Lord; Michal, his wife, despises him.

Elijah and the prophets of Baal face off on Mount Carmel. The Lord reveals Himself as the true God. Elijah and the Israelites kill the prophets of Baal. The Lord sends rain on the land once again.

Miraculously, the oil and flour last throughout the time of drought so that Elijah and the widow and her son may eat and live. The son of the widow dies and Elijah revives him to life miraculously.
