Today’s Bible Reading

The Lord will destroy Damascus, but will preserve a remnant of faithful people.

The “new” Gospel of free forgiveness apart from works required a new way of thinking. You couldn’t fit the old way of the Pharisees into Jesus’ new system.

God revealed to Elisha things that would come to pass both good and bad. Elisha wept at the bad— as do we who know that dark days are ahead for the wicked.
