Today’s Bible Reading

Arrogantly and foolishly, David imposes a census on Israel and Judah. As punishment for this sinful action, the Lord sends a pestilence on the land. David builds an altar and offers a sacrifice to the Lord, and the Lord ends the plague.

Moses and Aaron appear before Pharaoh and command him to allow the people of Israel to leave Egypt. When Pharaoh refuses, Moses strikes the water of the Nile with his staff, and the water of the Nile turns into blood.
