Today’s Bible Reading

The people of Reuben and the people of Gad, who have a large number of livestock, request permission to settle east of the Jordan in the land of Gilead, which is ideal for livestock.

The people recognized their error and in 520 BC the rebuilding began. The temple was the Lord’s dwelling place among them, so it was important for them to get it back into shape.
