Today’s Bible Reading

Arrogantly and foolishly, David imposes a census on Israel and Judah. As punishment for this sinful action, the Lord sends a pestilence on the land. David builds an altar and offers a sacrifice to the Lord, and the Lord ends the plague.

The situation will be tragic for those who have rejected the Lord. Those who trust in the Branch, however, will escape the judgment and will be glorified.

Since the Lord has granted us forgiveness and salvation in Christ, we know and believe that He is working all things for our eternal good. Therefore we wait patiently, trusting in Him.
