Again Joab went too far and planned to destroy a whole city to take one man. He was finally stopped by a wise woman’s counsel. Do we ever go too far under the guise of “righteousness”?

Although Joab was loyal to King David, he was also ruthless and vindictive toward his enemies (or those he perceived as his enemies) as seen here in the murder of Amasa. David would not forget.
