The Marys visit Jesus’ tomb early on Easter morning. An angel announces to them that Jesus has risen from the dead. The Jewish leaders pay the Roman soldiers to say that Jesus’ disciples have stolen His body. In Galilee Jesus commissions His church to baptize and to teach.

It is not a pretty picture that Ezekiel paints for us, but it is a stark reminder of the perfect justice of our righteous God. At the same time, Ezekiel paints for us a beautiful and comforting picture of the abounding grace of our Lord as He restores His chosen people.
