In all these letters, Jesus never preaches the Law without the Gospel. Here, even the luke-warm are spurred on by the Good News of v. 21.

The Christians were being seduced by sexual immorality, so Jesus urged them to repent, to continue in love and faith, and to remember their triumph at the end.
