The Son of Man will be lifted up (on the cross) for all people, but to receive the benefits of that death one needs to be “born again,” that is brought to faith in Christ.

Nothing mattered more to Jesus than His Father’s house and His Father’s business. At the heart of His Father’s business was the Son’s death, and resurrection.
